changed a creature of habit into a nature lover." -
Meeta
"Had an absolutely Great Trip! It could not have
been better. Thanks" - Steve
"The
Experience of a lifetime!!! Each of you guys was incredible, Loved You
all." - Love Lupe
"We still smile
when we think of our 7-year old daughter discovering so many new things. Seeing
bighorn sheep... panning for garnets... heraing stories about Buckskin Bill...
swimming in the river... A really great and relaxing family
vacation!
The guides were outstanding. When you spend hours a day in the
boat with someone, you get to know them pretty well, and we found them to be
unfailiningly professional, interesting, energetic, and fun." - Pamela and Marc Davey, Ketchum Idaho
"Our raft trip down the Salmon River in the summer of '01 was The Best! A
lifetime high. Five whole days floating pristine canyons, swimming in crystal
clear water, sleeping under the stars, eating fabulous food, laughing and
playing with old friends and making new friends, too! If this isn't Heaven,
Heaven doesn't exist. Thank you, thank you, thank you Matt, for the best
vacation ever!" - Kathy, Portland Oregon
"I would highly recommend Adventures Wild to anyone seeking the
best in river adventures. Matt Lutz and his team deliver an exceptional trip-
great attitude, 100% professionalism, fun memories, great food and camp
equipment, attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of the river. As
a travel professional, I can wholeheartedly endorse Adventures Wild for a
travel experience not to be missed." - Deborah Evans,
General Manager, Red Mountain Resort & Spa, St. George,
Utah.
"I traveled with Matt Lutz down the Salmon River
in August and rarely do I have the privilege of recommending someone in whom I
have so much confidence. Matt was always assured. Always clam. Safety first,
yet he was always fun when not on the spot. Moreover, Matt is a gentleman -
easy going, pleasant, efficient - the consummate outdoorsman. At home in any
foreseeable circumstance. No wonder he is recognized as a premiere alpine
helicopter skiing trainer. He doesn't give in or give up. I enjoyed my trip
with him so much that I am already scheming to retain his services in the
future. Not just on the Main Salmon, but in Nepal as well. Even old folks can
trek if they have the right stuff. In my case that is Matt!" - Kevin, Portland Oregon
"Forgot Dates, Forgot Times, A Perfect Vacation."
- Robin Johnson
"I have been
kayaking all over the country and although every river has good qualities, I
have never been on a river that has so much to offer all levels of kayakers.
Around almost every corner you can find somewhere to play. The sheer volume of
the river makes it so even when the water is at lower levels, you can still
find excitement and challenge for all abilities. The best part about the rapids
is that there are always different ways down so you can choose an easier route
or a more challenging one. I can't wait for my next trip down the Main Salmon."
- John Minerich, Sun Valley Idaho
"Rafting with you at Adventures Wild is unlike anything else I have
ever done. I love being outdoors
hiking, camping, and backpacking. But
these activities involve a lot of effort and planning. What was wonderful about
you folks is that all I had to do was get to Boise. Everything else was taken
care of. I was taken care of.
That's not to say that I did not have to
make any decisions. After all, everyday I could choose to have someone else row
me down the river, or I could jump in a paddle boat with a whole team of
paddlers, or I could {dare I?} try the rapids myself in an inflatable
kayak.
I have to say the kayak is my favorite! The first time I saw
someone else climb into one of those kayaks, I wondered if or when I'd have the
nerve to do it. When I finally did, it was a real adrenaline rush. And you know
what, it stayed that way
every rapid we took. I love being out there on
the water
screaming my head off going through a rapid or just laying back
when the water is flowing quietly and letting the peacefulness of the beauty
around us seep into my soul.
And in the evening, on those beautiful
beaches, you set up my tent and served up wonderful food and drink. All I had
to do was show up and enjoy
the people, the food, the mountains, the sun
going down, the black bears across the river. Wonderful." - Anne Elliott, San Diego CA
"River rafting with Adventures Wild was a blast! No
two ways about it, that is the best adjective to describe the experience. We
started out by running into a troupe (or is it a herd) of 6 male wild big horn
sheep on the road out to the river. From the river we saw bears and wild birds,
and a deer came and visited our campsite for a half-hour. But it wasn't all
nature. The people were great fun, from the guides to the guests. I really
enjoyed the evenings chatting around the fire and the gourmet cuisine. I
haven't had such delicious steak & salmon in ages. We played games as a
group several nights, which was good fun and a definite part of the bonding
experience. My tent was a cozy little haven all set up for me by these great
guides, it wasn't entirely like camping, as it was so comfortable. And we had a
warm shower as my mom brought a solar heating water bag from REI that holds
enough water for warm showers for several people. Oh, and the rafting itself!
The raft is great; you just relax and enjoy the scenery and the conversation,
get a little tan
But my favorite was the paddleboat. You get 6 gung-ho
guests and a terrific guide and you go for it! Facing down those rapids and let
loose! The canoes were fun and I think I'll have to try the kayak next year, as
I'm definitely going back again!" - Anna Elizabeth,
Paris France
"Adventures Wild hosted the most amazing
honeymoon for us and 20 of our closest friends! Matt and the other guides were
so helpful and accommodating to everyone's needs. They helped us plan our river
adventure from start to finish. The rafting and kayaking of the Salmon was
awesome under the watchful eye of our guides. The food was amazing and the
guides made "camping" so easy and comfortable even for first timers! We highly
recommend Adventure's Wild...trips with them are a blast!" - Julie & Danny Baker San Francisco, CA
"Our adventure down the Main Salmon last year was a perfect
vacation; great company, expert guides, fantastic meals, spectacular scenery
and wildlife, not to mention the thrill of running the famous "River of No
Return" rapids in a kayak.
I must admit that as a novice kayaker I
approached such rapids as Salmon Falls, Bailey's, etc... with MUCH trepidation,
but Matt and company were always there to lend a hand when the rapids got the
upper hand.
As I look back on last year's trip I can't help but look
forward to giving the beautiful and wild river another run in the very near
future. Thanks again to the entire Adventures Wild crew who made my first
whitewater kayaking experience such an enjoyable one."
- Terence Stern, St Louis Missouri
"One of the best experiences I've had in life has been
spending time on the Salmon River. Nothing else compares its peacefulness,
serenity and beauty. The ability to be in nature sans phones, fax machines,
emails and all the demands of the modern world is totally refreshing and
invigorating. Matt Lutz, the owner and head guide of Adventures Wild, is
dedicated to safety first. It is a pleasure to enjoy the Salmon River canyon
while dining on fine food, frolicking in the rapids and calm parts of the
river, hiking the nature trails, exploring the past habitat of Indians and
pioneer settlers, sharing stories, meeting new friends, and letting the
competent guides of Adventure Wild show you the best time of your life."
